CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mrs. Mary Lynn Burgess, 52, of Chapmanville, formerly of Blair, was born November 24, 1954, at Logan, a daughter of the late Kenneth Jr. and Marie Adkins Stafford. She departed this life Saturday, November 17, 2007, at her residence.
Mrs. Burgess was a 1973 graduate of Sharples High School and Southern West Virginia Community College Nursing Program. She was a disabled retired registered nurse, having worked for five years at Boone Memorial Hospital in Madison and for 17 years at Logan General Hospital. A member of the Chapmanville Church of Christ, she was a very caring person, putting others before herself.Survivors include her husband of 31 years, C.R. Burgess; one daughter, Kendra Burgess of Barboursville; one son, Gary Burgess of Huntington; one precious grandson, Parker Burgess; two sisters, Patricia (Aaron) Goodman of Man and Pamela (the late Jimmy Ray) Workman of Hernshaw; several nieces and nephews, and two special pets, Max and Chalooby.
Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, at the Evans Funeral Home in Chapmanville with Mr. Bill Aleshire and Mr. John Steele, ministers, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.Pallbearers will be Jimmy Workman, Brian Workman, Danny Kinder, Scott Burgess, Mark Goodman and Mark Drake.Honorary pallbearers will be Clark Adkins and Brandon McDonald.
Evans Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
